How to use ParkSwift POS day to day — creating and closing tickets as an attendant, and reviewing or correcting data as an admin.

Getting Started

Open ParkSwift POS on the handheld terminal. You'll land on the Entry screen — this is where every shift starts. No login is required; the app is ready to use immediately.

The first time the app opens on a new device, it may ask you to confirm activation. This just registers the device so its tickets can be identified later — you only see this once.

Creating a Ticket (Entry)

  1. Select the vehicle type — Ebike, Motorcycle, Car, or Truck.
  2. Enter the plate number if visible. This is optional — a ticket can be created and printed without one.
  3. Tap Create Ticket. A ticket number is generated automatically (format YY-MMdd-####) and a QR code is embedded in the printed receipt.
  4. The receipt prints automatically — no separate "Print" button. Hand it to the driver.
The print dialog is normal. The device's OS print sheet may appear briefly before the receipt comes out — this is expected and routes straight to the built-in thermal printer.

Closing a Ticket (Exit)

  1. Go to the Exit screen.
  2. Scan the QR code on the driver's ticket, or type in the ticket number manually if the code is damaged or unreadable.
  3. The fee calculates automatically based on time parked.
  4. Confirm the exit — a second receipt prints showing the total fee.
  5. Collect payment and the vehicle may exit.

Daily Report

The Daily Report screen (reachable from the attendant nav) shows a running total for the current shift — vehicles processed and income collected so far today. It's meant as a quick on-shift check, not a full history.

Working Offline & Syncing

ParkSwift POS keeps working with no signal. Every ticket you create or close is saved on the device immediately — printing never waits on a network connection.

  • Tickets queue locally until the device can reach the server.
  • Syncing happens automatically in the background when a connection is available, and can also be triggered manually.
  • It's safe to sync more than once — nothing gets duplicated on the server.
You do not need to wait for a connection to keep working. Create and close tickets as normal; sync catches up whenever the device reconnects.
Admin

Executive Dashboard

The dashboard is a reporting view — income totals (today/week/ month/all-time), vehicles processed, currently-parked count, income broken down by device, a 14-day exit trend chart, and a recent exit log. It does not let you edit or delete anything — for that, see Admin Maintenance.

Filtering

Use the filter bar at the top to narrow what the dashboard shows:

  • Device — see only one terminal's activity.
  • Vehicle Type — narrow to Ebike / Motorcycle / Car / Truck, or leave on "All Vehicle Types."
  • From / To — a date range applied to income and exit data. The "Currently Parked" count ignores the date range, since open tickets have no exit date yet.

Tap Apply to run the filter, or Clear to reset everything.

Naming a Device

Devices are only known by a long ID number until you name them. Tap Name Device:

  1. If a specific device is already selected in the filter, you'll be asked straight for a name.
  2. If "All Devices" is selected, you'll first pick which device from a list.
  3. Type a name — e.g. "Gate 1 - North Entrance" — and save.

The name then appears everywhere that device shows up: filters, tables, and the chart legend.

Admin

Admin Maintenance

This page is for fixing mistakes in already-synced data — a mistyped plate number, a wrong vehicle type, a duplicate or junk record. There is no way to create a new ticket here — tickets only ever come from an attendant device.

Use the same Device / Vehicle Type filters as the dashboard to narrow the list before editing.

Editing a Record

  1. Find the row you want to fix.
  2. Edit the plate number, vehicle type, entry time, exit time, or fee directly in the row.
  3. Tap Save on that row. The row flashes green to confirm it saved.

Deleting Records

There are three ways to delete, depending on scope:

  • One record — tap Delete on that row. You'll be asked to confirm.
  • Several records — check the boxes on the rows you want gone, then tap Delete Selected at the top.
  • Everything for one device — select that device in the filter, tap Delete All for Device, and type DELETE to confirm. This is permanent and cannot be undone — use it for a decommissioned or misconfigured terminal only.
All deletes are permanent. There is no undo or recycle bin. Double-check the filter and the selected rows before confirming, especially for the device-wide delete.

Troubleshooting

IssueWhat to do
Receipt didn't print Check the device's print dialog wasn't dismissed accidentally. The app can't confirm a physical print happened — reprint from the ticket lookup if needed.
QR code won't scan at exit Type the ticket number in manually instead — printed on the receipt above the QR code.
A device shows only as a long ID, not a name No one has named it yet — see Naming a Device.
A ticket has the wrong plate/vehicle type/fee Fix it on the Admin Maintenance page — see Editing a Record.
Dashboard numbers look off after a filter Check the filter bar — a device or date range may still be applied. Tap Clear to see everything again.
